ABOUT  ME

I am a poet, but also an author of Christian Fiction, who more recently has also ventured into political and social satire. The path to getting 

here though, I must admit, has also been littered with experiences that could have upended my journey, but they actually gave me the resilience

I've needed against new challenges over the years in a big way. Those that were great, as well as not so great, have really benefited me spiritually, and have given me a new appreciation for how nuanced things that occur with human nature can be.

My exploration into writing actually began with poems, then short stories while I was barely in my twenties as an enlisted recruit in the Air Force at the height of the Vietnam War. Anti-War sentiment in the country was high then, with other social and political upheavals in the mix too. At first I felt my animosity about it all would stifle me, but it inspired me to write even more; in particular about the level of cynicism concerning race relations and crime. Being so young and naive then, I was left with the impression that the military just seemed to be an extension of that reality.

The growth I've experienced since then has changed the trajectory of my life dramatically; not only in the way I've managed my own affairs, but also with the expectation of achieving the 'Good Success' that my faith assures me of as long as I remain focused. It gives me the motivation to try and promote the idea of positive thinking and resiliency through the use of this platform; messaging that is meant to inspire and challenge the mindset that negative thinking can create.

'Keys, Portraits of Trials and Truth' (A trio of short stories), and a revised version of that same book entitled, 'Keys-Extending the Hands of Grace' are featured on this Blog. My first novel entitled, 'The Orphan', is also featured and are books I've already published. All three can be purchased using the Order Form on this Blog. A fourth book is only a few chapters from being completed, but the stories in each have a recurring theme; namely, to try and  prevent the collapse of initiative for the main characters while living with adversity. The goal is about uncovering  the 'champion' in each of them,  which hopefully speaks to something we should all aspire to.

I've posted several poems and articles on my Facebook Page; especially at the start of the pandemic but my mission is simply to write and  hopefully provide inspiration, as well as an incentive, for readers to look at life through a lens of positivity as long as my body, my mind, and God's will allow me to.
